Is McDonald's A 'Communist Dictatorship'? A New Taco Bell Commercial May Depict It As One

Yum! Brands, Inc. YUM has a new commercial out for Taco Bell that depicts a dystopian society where everyone is forced to eat "the same breakfast" every day. The commercial doesn't specifically single out McDonald's Corporation MCD by name but the similarities are present. A dictator in full military attire resembles an evil Ronald McDonald and forces its unwilling subjects to consume a breakfast sandwich appearing similar to an Egg McMuffin. Various "propaganda" posters throughout the commercial also depict a Ronald McDonald like figure with the phrase "routine rules." A voice on a loudspeaker repeats phrases including "happiness is eating the same breakfast" and "different is bad." Taco Bell recently introduced breakfast items in hopes of stealing market share from its peers – including McDonald's. Finally, two "rebellious" characters break away and escape the dark and evil republic to find refuge with fellow "defectors" enjoying a Taco Bell sandwich. "Where's the rest of them?," a defector asks. "They're coming," the new escapee answers. The entire add can be seen on Business Insider.
