EchoStar Secures Naval Contract To Provide 5G Smart Devices And Services

EchoStar Corporation SATS has secured an indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract under the U.S. Naval Supply Systems Command’s Spiral 4 program for wireless products and services. 

Through its subsidiaries Hughes Network Systems and Boost Mobile, EchoStar will supply 5G wireless services and devices across all 50 U.S. states and U.S. territories and for international travel on temporary duty. 

Administered by the U.S. Navy, Spiral 4 also facilitates mobile device procurement and service plans for the Department of Defense and other federal agencies, potentially reaching a value of up to $2.7 billion over the next decade.

The Spiral 4 program, beginning in May 2024, with a potential duration until 2034, primarily targets smartphone devices but also accommodates tablets, IoT equipment, and other 5G-enabled devices.

Price Action: SATS shares traded higher by 0.30% At $16.80 at the last check Wednesday.
