Huntington Ingalls Completes Sea Trials For US Coast Guard's New Security Cutter

Huntington Ingalls Industries, Inc. HII declared the successful completion of sea trials for the U.S. Coast Guard's newest national security cutter, Calhoun (WMSL 759).

National Security Cutters perform various missions at sea, including maritime security, environmental protection, and drug interdiction. The Calhoun (WMSL 759) ship passed the builder's tests for propulsion, auxiliary equipment, and various other ship systems.

"Every successful sea trial is a major accomplishment for our shipbuilders, and the NSC team has worked hard to ensure the Coast Guard receives another highly capable and advanced cutter for the fleet," Ingalls Shipbuilding NSC Program Manager Amanda Whitaker said.

The company said it had delivered nine legend-class national security cutters to the Coast Guard, further enabling their essential missions around the globe.

Ingalls Shipbuilding revenues for the first quarter of 2023 were $577 million, a decrease of 8.6% from the same period in 2022, primarily driven by lower revenues in amphibious assault ships and the Legend-class National Security Cutter (NSC) program.

"Our team will continue to prepare NSC 10 for the next set of trials and ensure that this ship will be ready to undertake the most challenging Coast Guard missions," Whitaker added.

Price Action: HII shares are trading higher by 0.53% to $228.79 on the last check Monday.
