Musicians Tinashe And Mitchell Tenpenny Talk About Their New Cannabis Lines: They 'Reflect Our Creativity'

Green Thumb Industries Inc. GTBIF, a renowned national cannabis company and proprietor of RISE Dispensaries and RYTHM, has embarked on a unique venture with the introduction of the RYTHM Artist Series. This inventive series unites the realms of music and cannabis culture, offering strains meticulously selected by artists across a spectrum of musical genres.

Mitchell Tenpenny, a country music star known for his versatile approach to the genre, is among the first artists to collaborate in this series. In an interview with Benzinga Cannabis, he said, “I’m extremely excited to partner with RYTHM first and foremost because they are quality people. I’ve come to know them as friends and in any business I do, it’s always about the people first.”

This intricate series represents more than just a fusion of two worlds; it also reflects the dedication, hard work and innovation invested in creating each unique strain.

Tenpenny shared his admiration for the dedication to the craft observed during his visit to the facility in Florida. “When I visited the facility in Florida, I was impressed with the employees’ professionalism and how much they loved to work there,” he said, highlighting the infectious enthusiasm and meticulousness that prevailed within the facility. Growing up in the South, where marijuana was taboo, he is now eager to enlighten people on the benefits of marijuana, drawing from personal experiences where it helped members of his family with certain illnesses.

The RYTHM Artist Series stands as a testament to each participating artist’s distinct connection to cannabis, presenting custom strains that mirror their lifestyles, tastes and the effects they desire. Renowned artists such as the pop-punk band State Champs, blues singer-songwriter Marcus King and R&B and pop singer Tinashe will be launching products under this series as well, each coupled with their own unique strain name and innovative packaging design.

Tinashe also spoke with Benzinga and expressed her excitement about joining the RYTHM’s Artist Series. “Creating my own strain from scratch has always been a goal of mine. With RYTHM sharing in my passion for music and cannabis, plus their commitment to creating a strain that reflects my creativity and inspiration, it felt like the perfect partnership.” This collaboration allows Tinashe to intertwine her musical creativity with her passion for cannabis, offering her fans an exclusive strain crafted with inspiration and commitment.

Ben Kovler, Green Thumb's founder, chairman and CEO added, “The RYTHM Artist Series is about elevating the authentic relationship artists have with cannabis while bringing fans closer to their favorite artist by smoking the same strain as them.” This novel endeavor showcases a dynamic confluence of music and cannabis, offering fans an unprecedented experience to resonate with their favorite artists on a deeper level, through shared cannabis strains.

Mitchell Tenpenny, the series’ inaugural collaborator, will introduce Night Owl Haze, initially available exclusively at RISE Dispensaries in Florida from October 27, with further expansions into Illinois and Nevada. The strain, named in honor of Tenpenny’s fan base, resonates with his multifaceted nature as an artist, evidenced by his staggering 1.5 billion streams and recent announcement to join the 2024 Growin’ Up and Gettin’ Old Tour.

To commemorate the launch, a series of events, including a meet-and-greet, are slated to occur in Florida, Illinois, and Nevada, offering fans the opportunity to experience a symphonic blend of music and cannabis in person.

This series pioneers a pathway for artists and fans alike to explore and embrace the synergy between music and cannabis culture, epitomizing the brand’s ethos: Find Your RYTHM, and allowing fans to connect with their musical icons in a new, euphonic light.
