Selective Androgen Receptor Modulators, known as SARMs, are a class of anabolic steroids that have become popular in the fitness and bodybuilding community due to their ability to promote rapid muscle growth. Unlike classic steroids, SARMS are not injected, but taken as a supplement in the form of pills.
The main problem with SARMS has to do with the fact that, despite being illegal, they are sold in the UK in physical stores and online. An important part of its popularity is due to social networks, especially on platforms such as TikTok (which has posts with more than 14 million views) and YouTube (where there are videos that accumulate more than 60 million views), reported Dazzed.
The frequent use of SARMS or other anabolics, such as IPEDs, to achieve accelerated muscle growth is the subject of debate in sports and physical education. Ryan Jones, a sports masseuse interviewed by the advertising medium, said that at least half of his clients use anabolics (mostly SARMS) and that they have experienced adverse effects such as stopping the production of testosterone. "I've gotten to the point where I ask people directly if they've been using performance-enhancing drugs, it's that common," he revealed.
Can Coexist A Healthy Balance Between Being Fit And Using Anabolics?
Given the popular use of a substance without official restrictions that can be harmful, there is nothing left but to warn about what it can generate in the body. The lack of research and regulation is a health concern.
Therefore, it is important that a person knows that if they are going to use SARMS, it may not be everything that the packaging promises because there is no one who has previously checked it. The problems that these substances can generate in the body range from hormonal disorders to liver damage and cardiovascular risk. To these physical problems depression, mood swings, and even psychosis can be added, since mental health is not outside the range of SARMS.
But even with this information and being aware of the consequences, it is likely that there are people willing to use it. Here are some recommendations to reduce risks:
- Buy from reputable sources that can guarantee the authenticity of the product.
- Seek prior advice from a health professional.
- Monitor hormone levels with blood tests.
- Pay attention to symptoms and side effects.
Yes, using SARMS can make your muscles grow faster. But at what cost? Before even considering it, it is necessary to investigate thoroughly and speak with professionals so that the physical and mental well-being of no one is affected.
