Chelsea Handler Admits To Being Too High While Hosting 'The Daily Show'

After Trevor Noah's departure, Chelsea Handler was a guest host on "The Daily Show" this week and, as expected, the laughs were not lacking. “There was a lot of news happening this weekend and I was on ecstasy, so let's get this party started,” she said at her first performance.

Chelsea Handler Pushes The Daily Show's Boundaries

Day after day, Chelsea Handler doubled down. "If you watched the show last night you will know I was on Ecstasy and I was way too high to find my way out of this building. So I am back here again tonight and now I am high on ayahuasca," she commented at the show. Apparently, those effects weren't an impediment for her, and she was able to break news about the downing of an alleged Chinese spy balloon in South Carolina and deliver a report that Mount Washington is colder than Mars.

But the comedic boom came on the third day when she said she would do the show sober and launched into a monologue about motherhood being a choice. As she spoke, she began to joke about being miserable for not having children: “I'm miserable smoking a joint in a jacuzzi,” she said as Instagram posts of her in full enjoyment flashed across the screen.

The next guest on the show will be Sarah Silverman, also a cannabis enthusiast and advocate. Will she continue to up the ante? Although it is not well known how to overcome expressing "I love pills" on air, as Chelsea has done.
