Tesla Semi Scores EPA Approval, And This Soda Company Has First Dibs On Deliveries

Tesla Inc. TSLA first revealed its all-electric semi in 2019.

It's finally scheduled to begin deliveries in December 2022, and PepsiCo, Inc PEP is the first company to take delivery of the new Tesla Semi.

But now things are becoming more official as Teslarati has shared that Tesla has received official EPA certification on the Tesla Semi.

Before deliveries are legally allowed, Tesla must receive government approval, and this is a huge step.

The EPA told Tesalrati that the Tesla Semi was officially granted a Certificate of Conformity, which was given to the manufacturer on Sept. 29. This means the vehicle conforms to the agency’s emissions and fuel economy standards.

Pre-orders for the Tesla Semi are now closed on Tesla's website, but the advertised price of the long-range version, which can go 500 miles with a full load, was $180,000 when preorders were available. Once Tesla is able to ramp up production, the order page may open again, and prices could be higher.
