Betr Enters 27th Jurisdiction, Boosting Joey Levy And Jake Paul's Joint Venture

Sports betting and sports media company Betr is broadening its reach to an additional state while unveiling updated strategies for its upcoming next-gen platform. The announcement comes after the company rolled out Betr Picks.

What Happened: Founded by Jake Paul and Joey Levy, Betr is launching its real money sportsbook in Virginia, according to a company announcement Wednesday.

This marks the third state for Betr’s real money online sports betting, adding to the existing markets of Ohio and Massachusetts.

Betr said Virginia will be the final state to utilize the company’s Betr V0 product.

The company, specializing in both sports wagering and media, currently emphasizes microbetting, allowing users to place bets on individual plays and drives across a range of sports. Betr also offers both pre-game and live betting options on popular categories such as which team will win and point over/under totals.

The company said it will also launch its Scripts product in Virginia, which it says “combines the instant gratification of a microbet with the long odds of a parlay.”

“We are thrilled to continue expanding our online sports betting business by launching in Virginia just in time for the NFL season,” Betr co-founder and CEO Levy said.

Why It’s Important: Plans call for the launch of Betr’s V1 Sportsbook in existing states and new markets in 2024.

The Virginia rollout marks the 27th jurisdiction where Betr is operational for real-money wagering, encompassing both its Betr Sportsbook and Betr Picks services.

Betr Picks launched on July 31 and hit number three on the sports app downloads chart according to the company. The launch saw strong engagement thanks to a sponsorship of the Jake Paul vs. Nate Diax fight and an exclusive minigame in the app.

The company’s Betr Media unit is the fastest-growing sports betting media brand in the company. Betr Media has over 1.6 million followers, 1.6 billion impressions and 84 million engagements on social media since launching in August 2022.
