George Santos was recently ousted from the House of Representatives. The move came after months of allegations of lying and federal charges brought against the former Republican congressman from New York.
What Happened: Santos became only the sixth member of Congress to be expelled, a notorious honor that comes after serving less than one year in office.
The House of Representatives voted to oust Santos with a vote of 311-114, securing the two-thirds majority needed for the seldom-used move.
While Congress will turn to filling the vacancy left by Santos, the former congressman may have another job all lined up.
Santos shared a link to his Cameo profile on Monday, urging consumers to purchase video messages from him on the site that gives people the ability to hear from the likes of actors, athletes, comedians, musicians and reality stars.
The biography for Santos on Cameo reads "The expelled member of Congress from New York City" and labels himself as a "former congressional icon."
The latest listed price on Cameo was $200 for each video message, with USA Today reporting that the price was previously listed at $75 per video. The videos averaged 35 seconds in length and were said to be delivered within 24 hours.
Santos' cameo page listed a limited number of videos available and at the time of writing was listed as temporarily unavailable.
The former Congressman is listed under the political commentator category, which also includes former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin ($199).
Senator John Fetterman (D-Penn.) shared on X he was among the customers of Santos on Cameo.
"I thought my ethically challenged colleague Bob Menendez could use some encouragement given his substantial legal problems. I approached a seasoned expert on the matter to give ‘Bobby from Jersey' some advice," Fetterman tweeted.
Along with Santos, Cameo features names like Tommy Chong, Brett Favre, Bruce Buffer, Ray Lewis, Cameo's Favorite Santa, "The Jesus Christ" and several Donald Trump impersonators.
What's Next: Along with news of Santos joining Cameo, it was announced Monday that a movie about the former congressman is in the works.
According to Deadline, the movie comes from Warner Bros. Discovery WBD unit HBO Films. The movie company optioned the rights to the new book "The Fabulist: The Lying, Hustling, Grifting, Stealing, and Very American Legend of George Santos.” The book was released on Nov. 28, 2023.
Frank Rich, who worked on hits like "Veep” and "Succession" is behind the new movie described as a "darkly comic look" at Santos.
"Saturday Night Live" also poked fun at Santos in the cold open of the most recent episode.
