Apple Music Voice Plan Discontinued — What's Next For Subscribers?

Zinger Key Points
  • Apple discontinues its $4.99 per month Apple Music Voice Plan, which allowed users to access their music library through Siri.
  • Users can switch to other Apple Music plans, with the most affordable being the $5.99 per month Student tier.

Apple Inc APPL has discontinued its $4.99 per month Apple Music Voice Plan, a subscription service introduced in 2021 that allowed users to access the Apple Music library via Siri on various devices.

The Voice Plan is no longer listed among the available Apple Music plans on the company's website, The Verge reported.

Users who were previously subscribed to the Voice Plan will have their auto-renewal turned off, and Apple suggests they consider switching to one of its other Apple Music plans.

Following the discontinuation of the Voice Plan, the Cupertino, California-based company's most affordable Apple Music offering is now the $5.99 per month Student tier — exclusively available to students.

It's worth noting that Apple had already raised the price of the Apple Music Student plan in June 2022 and increased the costs of the Individual and Family plans in October 2022.

In contrast, Amazon continues to offer its $4.99 Amazon Music Unlimited tier, although this plan only allows access from one Echo or Fire TV device.

This move by Apple represents a shift in their subscription offerings and pricing structure for Apple Music users.
