Oppenheimer provided color on Midwest regional banks. In a research report published today, Oppenheimer named the top performers. The report states, "The five best-performing Midwest bank stocks year-to-date are Independent Bancorp (

), Bank of Kentucky (

), QCR Holdings (

), and Guaranty Federal Bancshares (

). All of these banks are nano- or small-cap stocks, with market caps ranging from $17M to $188M." On Wednesday, Independent Bancorp (NASDAQ:

) lost 2.43% of its value to close the day at $2.01. Another loser was Princeton National Bancorp (NASDAQ:

), which fell 1.05% to $5.65. Bank of Kentucky (NASDAQ:

) added 0.79% to its value to close the day at $25.45. Guaranty Federal Bancshares (NASDAQ:
