Tesla Changes Up Solar Offerings, Renaming Small, Medium And Large Options

When it comes to solar power, Tesla Inc (NASDAQ: TSLA) offers one of the most aesthetic options with its solar roof, which is made to look like a normal roof, but also provide solar power to homeowners. The company also offers traditional solar panels, along with battery storage in the form of the Powerwall.

Previously, Tesla had consumer-friendly sizing options when picking a solar power system: small, medium, large and extra large. But now the company has switched back to a more traditional labeling of the kW size of each system - denoting the peak power the given system is able to generate. Some customers are also seeing eight different kW rating offerings.

Beyond this change, Tesla still has a user-friendly solar ordering interface. Potential customers can plug in their location, average electricity bill, and Tesla will quickly present the best options for solar and power storage solutions. The pay off period, loan amount, and cost savings over the life of the system are all readily available.
