U.S. equities recovered early morning losses and nearly recovered all of its losses. The Dow Jones index traded as low as 16,278.00 before recovering more than 100 points and closing the day at 16,391.51 - down just 0.13 percent on the day.
The S&P 500 index lost just 7 points to close at 1,917.76 while the Nasdaq index gained 0.38 percent and closed at 4,504.43.
As is typically the case, Friday's after-hours trading session is relatively quiet with no notable earnings.
BCB Bancorp, Inc. (NASDAQ:
BCBP), a community-oriented small cap financial institution, said that it earned $0.69 per share on revenue of $60.57 million.
Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc (NASDAQ:
KTOS) announced it will consolidate certain of its Modular System Division's (MSD) facilities in a restructuring move. The company expects the consolidation to improve efficiencies, operational performance, profit margins and cash flow.
Shares of
NXT-ID Inc (NASDAQ:
NXTD), a nano-cap maker of biometric security devices, gained more than 1 percent after the company reported its first contract win to supply its SmartCard for WorldVentures vacation club members. The deal is worth $15 million and is subject to WorldVentures accepting the prototype card that is now being manufactured.
