Cigna's score of 78 leads the health care providers and services industry sector, where the industry average score was 28. Cigna scored in the 100^th percentile in its industry for economic and social dimensions and in the 92^nd percentile for environmental dimension.

2019 marks the 20^th anniversary of the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index measuring corporate Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practices through the Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA). CSA now produces approximately 1,000 data points per company and encourages consistent disclosure practices around current and emerging sustainability issues. The world's 4,700 largest companies are invited to take part in the CSA, which is the basis for determination of DJSI inclusion.
