SpaceX Just 30 Launches Away From 2023 Goal As Musk Lauds Remarkable Milestone

Elon Musk‘s rocket manufacturing company SpaceX has completed 60 launches this year, much to the CEO’s excitement.

What Happened: SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket launched 22 Starlink satellites to low-Earth orbit from Florida on Thursday at about 10:21 p.m. ET, marking the company’s 60th launch this year.

“Congrats to the SpaceX team on launch 60 of 2023!” Musk wrote.

The company now hopes to launch the Space Development Agency's second Tranche 0 mission to low-Earth orbit from California on Friday, completing its 61st launch this year. SpaceX completed only 61 launches in the entirety of 2022.

Earlier this year in March when SpaceX completed its 20th launch for the year, Musk laid out big plans and said that the company is now eyeing over 70 launches for the remaining year, pegging the total number of launches for the year over 90.

SpaceX completed 26 launches in 2020, 31 in 2021, and nearly doubled it to 61 last year
