'Portrait Of Bravery:' Ukraine President Zelenskyy, Wife Appear On Vogue Cover Amid Russian Invasion

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and First Lady Olena Zelenska posed for a digital cover of Vogue magazine amid the war in Ukraine. 

What Happened: Zelenskyy and Zelenska discussed their two decades of marriage and living without their children due to the Russian invasion in an interview with the publication.

Zelenska also shared the pictures from the photoshoot on her social media accounts.

In the widely circulated pictures on social media, the Ukrainian first couple can be seen posing while holding hands across a table in one picture and sitting closer to each other in another. While Zelenska also got clicked near the tankers and soldiers, highlighting the ongoing war in Ukraine.

Vogue has also posted the image of Zelenska as its latest digital cover star, calling it a "portrait of bravery."

 

 

The war in Ukraine has been going on for more than 150 days and has claimed the lives of thousands of people. According to the Ukrainian President, the Ukrainian army has killed nearly 40,000 Russian soldiers and tens of thousands more "wounded and maimed" since Feb. 24.
