Retired U.S. Army Colonel Douglas Macgregor advocates for Bitcoin BTC/USD as a sanctuary from a predicted impending collapse of the financial system.

Will Putin Adopt Bitcoin?

In a conversation with Natalie Brunell, the former Senior Advisor to the Acting Secretary of Defense under the Trump administration responded to remarks by Russian President Vladimir Putin about the U.S. dollar's decline:

"I'm waiting for him to announce that he's going to start using Bitcoin as currency," Macgregor revealed.

MacGregor On Bitcoin's Investment Potential

Macgregor expressed his bullish stance on Bitcoin, predicting substantial returns for those who invest:

"I'm one of these people that thinks if you invest $100,000 in it, eventually it's going to be worth $1 million because the fiat currency is not going to work," he said.

MacGregor criticized the current reliance on fiat and digital bank-issued currencies and stressed the potential of Bitcoin for individuals seeking autonomy over their financial future.

"So the only way to get control of your own destiny right now in the West is Bitcoin," he commented.

MacGregor is known for his regular contributions to Fox News and appearances on RT and has been criticized for spreading disinformation about Ukraine, immigrants and refugees.

Bitcoin's Strategic Advantages

The discussion with Brunell also covered Bitcoin's national security benefits, with MacGregor emphasizing its resistance to cyber threats.

He also critiqued the current American leadership's reluctance to embrace new technologies like Bitcoin, attributing it to an age-related disconnect: "It's because you are governed by a gerontocracy," he stated, pointing out the generational gap in understanding Bitcoin's value.

The Future of Financial Independence

Despite prevailing skepticism from older generations and a lack of comprehension among U.S. political leaders, Macgregor remains hopeful about Bitcoin's role in providing a decentralized alternative to existing financial and political systems.
