Dogecoin DOGE/USD co-creator Billy Markus, who goes by the username Shibetoshi Nakamoto on Twitter, pointed out that many meme accounts had been suspended.
What Happened: On Monday, Markus took to Twitter and said that many "accounts of people," who, to his knowledge, just post "memes and positivity," are being suspended. "Pretty weird man," he tweeted.
Responding to Markus, Elon Musk initialy tweeted that he was looking into it.
However, in a later tweet, Musk said that the team was "a bit too intense with spam/bot suspension."

Why It's Important: Last week, Musk announced that Twitter users could see a drop in their follower count as the microblogging site is purging spam and fraudulent accounts.
The platform recently introduced a new feature that enables users to add a "confirmed phone number mark" on their profile to differentiate authentic users from bots.
While mentioning the reason behind relaunching Twitter Blue, Musk said that the platform isn't doing well at surfacing tweets from less prominent handles as it's almost impossible to distinguish between humans and bots/trolls.
