) reported that its 2nd quarter net income was $30.4 million, or 39 cents per share, compared to net income of $30.4 million, or 38 cents per share, a year earlier. Excluding special items, Waste Connections earned 48 cents per share. Revenue climbed 9.1% to $330.5 million. According to a poll of analysts by Thomson Reuters, the average Wall Street estimate called for earnings of 45 cents per share, on revenue of $324.92 million.
