Consumer fintech Zurp announced that its credit card and banking platform, which offers experience-focused awards, is available to individuals 18 years and older.

Through the startup's Mastercard Inc-powered MS Zurp Card offering — specifically built with Gen Z in mind — the brand aims to help users build a solid financial foundation without the typical credit check.

“Banking doesn’t have to be boring,” says Troy Osinoff, co-founder and co-CEO of Zurp. “We’re on a mission to provide experience-driven financial services, enabling people to live the life they’ve always desired.”

Purchases using the Zurp Card are funded from a linked FDIC-insured Zurp Cash Account, which is free and does not require owners not to maintain a minimum account balance.

In addition to Global Services, ID Theft, and Zero Liability Protection, the Zurp Cash Account offers 5% APY as a bonus. New cardholders will also receive 10,000 bonus points after signing up and another 10,000 points when they deposit $100 or more in their Zurp Cash Account or spend $1,000 within three months.

Zurp cardholders receive points for in-app activities and everyday purchases (i.e., one point for rent and mortgages, eight points for food, eight points for travel and entertainment, eight points for rideshare, and three points for all other purchases).

Points can be redeemed for things like rideshare credits or limited edition products.
