Were we supposed to be surprised?
If you're sick of the
back and forth nonsense of the
iPad 3 and its
release date reports, get in line: we're all getting sick of this. Did the rumor-starters forget that the iPad 2 was released this past winter? Did they forget that, if Apple (NASDAQ:
AAPL) cares at all about its bottom line, the company would not cannibalize sales of the iPad 2 and deter hype from the iPhone 5 by releasing an iPad 3 too soon?
Apparently they did. In any case,
DigiTimes is reporting (via
Business Insider) that the iPad 3 won't be released in 2011.
DigiTimes takes this report one step further by saying the new tablet will not go on sale before spring 2012. In theory, this makes perfect sense: by waiting until March or later, Apple will avoid any potential hype conflicts with the next iPhone.
