Nomura sees the potential for global food supply disruption being easily triggered & feed primarily through a feedback loop of hoarding, financial speculation and trade protectionism.

Rising food prices have a substantially larger impact on the CPI's of emerging economies and warns of possible repeat impact similar to the 2007-2008 food price surge
