The Runoff segment includes the results of non-strategic products which are no longer actively sold. Its non-strategic products include variable annuity, variable life insurance, institutional, corporate-owned life insurance and other accident and health insurance products. Institutional products consist of: funding agreements, funding agreements backing notes (FABNs) and guaranteed investment contracts (GICs). The Company's products compete by providing consumers with an array of long-term care coverage solutions, coupled with long-term care support services. The Company's insurance operations are subject to variety of laws and regulations.
