Expert Trader on How to Trade the Fed Announcement

Hamzei Analytics Founder Fari Hamzei shared his strategy for trading the FOMC meeting this afternoon on Benzinga's #PreMarket Prep morning show. Hamzei recommended that intraday traders look for opportunities in the FOMC's press conference, instead of the announcement. Hamzei said that he looks at the market on a question-by-question basis, "treating each question as a new trade." The next question, Hamzei said, could change the momentum. Specific to the announcement, Hamzei expects interest rates to increase slightly in the coming months, though he does not expect it to have a large impact on the economy or the market.
