Technology is developing at breakneck speed, fueled in part by artificial intelligence, and that's expected to continue into the future. It's already changed how we trade, how we invest and how we bank, and while it's anyone's guess where it's going in the next five years, one thing is for sure: it's here to stay, said Olga Zhukov, partner at GMind, during an interview at Benzinga's Fintech Day & Awards 2025.
In its 11th year, Benzinga's annual Fintech Day & Awards 2025 brought together industry leaders, investors and innovators in AI, investing and fintech to discuss the trends impacting the industry today and into the future. A big focus of the event was how AI and the evolution of technology are impacting trading.
Leveling Up With Technology
GMind is a custom software development company that helps online investing platforms, broker-dealers, asset management firms and companies build and modernize their technology and cloud infrastructures. Through its GMind Ventures branch, it also invests in early-stage startups and helps FinTech platforms build their technology faster and bring new products to market. The studio combines startup acceleration, MVP development and cloud-native expertise to help founders build market-ready solutions.
GMind's experience is in building financial technology solutions, and collaborated with firms like WealthCharts, Ultrade, ETNA Trader. GMind says its expertise in trading platforms, digital wealth management, brokerage systems, payment integrations, blockchain solutions and Amazon Web Services infrastructure enables it to support fintechs looking to scale and build enterprise-grade solutions.
AI Driving It
The company's position at the intersection of technology and trading gives it unique insight into the market.
"It's great to see how technology is developing so fast. Something that wouldn't have been possible ten to fifteen years ago without having a lot of capital invested, today can be done so much easier, so much faster," Olga said.
The key component, however, is deep expertise and technical acumen. These two ingredients enable you to fully leverage AI-based tools—from correctly formulating the problem to validating the solution and ensuring the underlying technology is reliable and secure. This is why it's essential to work with an experienced vendor who not only understands the AI landscape and its technical challenges, but also understands the industry challenges, including compliance requirements, data sourcing, integration, and migration.
AI streamlines product development by leveraging things like automation, data analysis and rapid prototyping. Because of AI, it is a lot easier to bring financial products to market, and the result of that was a big theme of the Benzinga Fintech Day & Awards. "It’s great to be part of this innovation and to see how this is all evolving," she said. "We're very excited. The future is bright."
