Continental's net profit for the year surged to 2.38 billion euros ($2.65 billion), versus a year-ago profit of EUR1.92 billion.
Its sales for the full year jumped to EUR34.5 billion.
Continental's board proposed a rise in 2014 dividend to EUR3.25 per share.
For 2015, Continental expects around 9% rise in sales to around EUR37.5 billion.
Continental shares fell 0.06% to close at $47.09 yesterday.
