Standard Life Posts Higher Profit

) reported a rise in its profit for the year. Pretax profit from continuing operations surged 19% to GBP604 million ($931.5 million), versus estimates of 559 million pounds. In the year, Standard Life gained 340,000 new customers in the U.K.. Its total revenue from fees gained 14% to £1.4 billion. Standard Life declared a final dividend of 17.03 pence, an 8% rise from 2013.
