As an iPhone owner, nothing is worse than a cracked display on your phone. Apple Inc. AAPL may be looking to fix this issue in future iterations of its iPhone with a granted patent today.
Apple filed patent 9,504,170 that would be a formation of displays using OLED (organic light-emitting diode) technology, which has been rumored. Although the patent highlights printed circuit boards and other structures, the patent filed today covers telephones, media players and computers.
Shares of Apple didn't move much off the news, nearly unchanged at $111.79 for the day.
