Comtech Telecomm. Corp. (NASDAQ:
CMTL) disclosed, in a statement to the press, that its subsidiary, Comtech PST Corp, has been awarded with a contract for $1.3 million. According to the company, the contract was for broadband, solid-state, high-power RF-microwave amplifiers from a big global customer.
Comtech President and CEO, Stanton Sloane, reacted by stating that "This follow-on order clearly demonstrates our continued leadership position in communications jamming technology and the ongoing need for our high-power broadband amplifiers which are utilized in major electronic warfare applications both domestically and internationally."

The company indicated that amplifiers, which include the existing broadband solid-state switching and transistor technology, provided broad frequency coverage and could be utilized as part of a communications jamming system supplied to an international end user.
Shares of the company traded up by 1.14% on Wednesday.
