BlackBerry Announces New Partnership With Sharecare At CES 2016

BlackBerry Ltd BBRY announced at CES 2016 a new partnership with Sharecare, a digital health and wellness engagement platform.

As part of the new partnership, BlackBerry and Sharecare will provide consumers with better and more secure insights into their health by combining Sharecare's proprietary fractal voice analysis into BlackBerry's secure messaging.

The partnership was also conveyed to the investment community through a press release.

BlackBerry noted that the partnership will also consumers to store, manage and update their health information while also enabling doctors to privately communicate with patients, and offer secure tele-health services.

"With the accessibility mobility provides, it also comes with the increased risk of data breaches that can compromise patient information and care," said Marty Beard, COO, BlackBerry in the company's press release. "When it comes to managing our health, it is imperative we provide secure solutions that address privacy concerns for organizations like Sharecare, in order to address one of the critical requirements for mass adoption of mobile healthcare solutions."

Shares of BlackBerry were trading lower by 0.79 percent at $8.79 Wednesday afternoon.
