21.co Taps ETF Vet Ahead Of Crypto Fund Partnership With Cathie Wood's Ark Invest

ETP issuer 21.co hired Mandy Chiu, a former executive at Tabula Investment Management, one of the world’s largest ETF providers, as head of financial product development.
Chiu "will be leading our global teams to continuously enhance existing products while  developing new products that take investors through the journey of crypto and blockchain investments, with the same stringent approaches of traditional finance," 21.co President Ophelia Snyder told Blockworks.

Chiu has more than 20 years of traditional finance experience. She will also look to bridge the gap between TradFi and DeFi to enhance the company’s growth. Chiu has also served as State Street Global Advisors’ (SSGA) head of ETF products for EMEA and APAC regions.

21.co is currently pursuing an ETF launch in the U.S. with Cathie Wood's Ark Invest.

The companies are also looking to onboard three other crypto funds to the market. The first one is Ark 21Shares Active Bitcoin Futures ETF (ARKA). It will hold U.S. Treasury securities, money market instruments, and repurchase agreements.

The two other offerings are the Ark 21Shares Active On-Chain Bitcoin Strategy ETF (ARKC), which will invest at least 25% in bitcoin futures contracts and the remaining in cash and cash equivalents; and the Ark 21Shares Digital Asset and Blockchain Strategy ETF (ARKD) for allocating to bitcoin futures contracts and equities of companies across the blockchain, digital asset and fintech industries.
