Store Your Vintage Cars And Fine Art On A Blockchain With Americana's New Service

Americana, a platform for tokenized collectibles, has launched a new service called "concierge vaulting" to address several challenges in the high-end physical collectibles industry.

Introduced on Friday, the service offers collectors the opportunity to store their valuable items in climate-controlled vaults managed by a blockchain-based system.

The service functions by verifying the authenticity of high-end collectibles and arranging their transportation to a secure facility.

The vault is designed to accommodate a wide range of items, from vintage cars and limited-edition sneakers to fine art, fine china and more, as per a press release shared with Benzinga.

The Americana platform allows users to display their collections, put items up for sale and accept offers.

Those who wish to use the vaulting service will need to consult with the Americana team to create a personalized intake plan. After a thorough authentication and intake process, each item will receive a unique digital certificate of authenticity.

The company, which is backed by Seven Seven Six, a venture capital firm founded by Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, and NFT marketplace OpenSea, secured $6.9 million in seed funding in May 2022.

At the same time, Americana introduced its Something membership token, which gave holders early access to its beta site. All 9,500 tokens, initially priced at 0.069 Ethereum ETH/USD (approximately $130), were sold out. The current market price for these tokens has fallen to 0.015 ETH, or roughly $28.
