Ethereum (CRYPTO: ETH) also moved higher, trading above the key $1,800 mark this morning.
Flare (CRYPTO: FLR) was the top gainer over the prior 24 hours, while Mina (CRYPTO: MINA) turned out to be the biggest loser.
At the time of writing, the global crypto market cap rose to $1.18 trillion, recording a 24-hour gain of 4.6%. BTC was trading higher by 5.3% at $28,369 while ETH rose by around 4.2% to $1,807 on Wednesday.
