Despite the shadow cast over cancer research by recent actions in the Trump administration, cancer scientists and oncologists told STAT that they’re as excited as ever about advances and innovation in their field. Indeed, this year’s conference features notable findings, some of which could transform cancer prevention and treatment.
With more than 21,000 people here at McCormick Place Convention Center in Chicago, AACR attendance still feels very strong. On a large poster outside the main exhibition hall, attendees have been pinning their home city on a world map. By the end of Day 2, that map bristles with multicolored clusters of pins stuck all around the world.
