Volkwagen, Ford Getting Probed On Safety Issues

the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is looking into Ford (NYSE:
F
) and Volkswagen for potential safety issues with the Mustang and Jetta, respectively. New Ford Mustangs could potentially have manual transmissions that face possible shifting problems and the Jetta sedans could face potential fuel leaks. The NHTSA said on its website an estimated 26,000 Ford Mustangs from 2011-2012 could face problems, while an an estimated 40,000 Jetta TDI cars from 2011 and after could face issues.
