AMC Networks (NASDAQ: AMCX) reported upbeat profit for the third quarter. The New York-based company reported a quarterly profit of $54 million, or $0.74 per share, versus a year-ago profit of $58 million, or $0.81 per share.Its revenue climbed to $520 million from $395 million. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $0.73 per share on revenue of $511 million.International and other revenue jumped $109 million to $123 million in the quarter, while revenue at its national-networks division gained 4.3% to $397 million.Operating income fell 9.9% to $110 million. Adjusted operating cash flow rose 3.2% to $142 million in the quarter.President and Chief Executive Officer Josh Sapan said: "AMC Networks continued its strong financial and operating performance in the third quarter with a double digit increase in revenue and growth in AOCF.”AMC Networks shares rose 1.10% to $60.60 at 10:30 a.m. ET.
