ICF International (NASDAQ: ICFI), a leading provider of consulting services and technology solutions to government and commercial clients, has been awarded a new contract from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Center for Surveillance, Epidemiology, and Laboratory Services (CSELS), Division of Health Informatics and Surveillance (DHIS) to provide support for multiple aspects of CDC's BioSense program. The contract has a value of $12 million and a term of one base year and three options years. Under this contract, ICF will provide surveillance expertise, information management and technology services, and data management and analytics support for multiple aspects of BioSense, CDC's cloud-based public health surveillance system that increases the ability of health officials at local, state and national levels to monitor and respond to harmful health effects of exposure to disease or hazardous conditions. ICF's work will help produce standardized system requirements and program design concepts for revisions to BioSense. “ICF is honored to work with CDC, CSELS and DHIS on such an important syndromic surveillance project that will be on the front lines of ongoing efforts to protect people against disease and hazardous conditions,” said Chris Bishop, senior vice president for ICF International. “We are pleased to build upon our longstanding relationship with CDC and to work with DHIS to improve surveillance data quality, enhance BioSense technology, and expand BioSense coverage to build nationwide situational awareness capabilities with their federal, state and local partners.” This award further strengthens ICF's existing portfolio of large health informatics contracts, which includes projects at CDC and the National Institutes of Health.
