Proof-of-Stake

Proof-of-Stake (PoS) is a consensus mechanism used in blockchain networks to validate transactions and secure the system. Instead of relying on energy-intensive mining, PoS selects validators based on the amount of cryptocurrency they commit, or 'stake,' in the network. This approach reduces environmental impact, increases scalability, and is widely adopted in modern blockchains such as Ethereum after its 2022 merge upgrade.
