Jensen Huang went from washing dishes at Denny's as a teenager to becoming one of the richest people on the planet, and his fortune took a long time to get going. This video follows the Nvidia co-founder's estimated net worth year by year, from age 15 to age 63. Huang got his first job at an Oregon Denny's at 15 and worked his way from dishwasher to busboy to server. He finished an electrical engineering degree at Oregon State University in 1984. At 30, he co-founded Nvidia with Chris Malachowsky and Curtis Priem in April 1993, after the three sketched out the plan in a Denny's booth in San Jose, California. That booth got a commemorative plaque in September 2023. Nvidia went public on Jan. 22, 1999, at $12 a share. Even so, Huang's wealth stayed in the single-digit billions for nearly two decades. His estimated net worth was around $2.7 billion at age 54, moved between roughly $3.8 billion and $5.6 billion over the next few years, and didn't pass $20 billion until he was 59. Then came the AI boom. As demand for Nvidia's data center chips surged, annual snapshots show Huang's fortune jumping to $77 billion at 61, $98.7 billion at 62 and $154 billion at 63. By Oct. 7, 2026, real-time estimates had him above $200 billion and seventh in the world. Almost all of that wealth comes from his Nvidia stake of a little over 3%, so Huang's net worth tracks NVDA shares and the AI spending cycle very closely.
