Marvell Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ:MRVL) stock fell nearly 8% Thursday as renewed supply-chain concerns across semiconductors weighed on chip stocks during a broader risk-off session.
The decline came as the Technology sector fell 3.15%, the weakest-performing sector, while the S&P 500 fell 1.28%.
Still, the stock is up over 160% in 2026, driven by demand for AI infrastructure, custom AI silicon (ASICs), and high-speed data center connectivity.
Supply Bottlenecks Return To Focus
AI infrastructure peer Lam Research Corp. (NASDAQ:LRCX) warned that near-term supply-chain constraints could push some December-quarter shipments into March.
Lam still reported a record 40.2% operating margin and guided December-quarter revenue to $8.2 billion-$9.0 billion, compared with the $8.53 billion estimate.
The company also projected wafer fabrication equipment spending in the mid-$150 billion range in 2026 and above $200 billion in 2027, while noting that cleanroom and supply constraints could limit how quickly the industry adds capacity.
Analysts Remain Bullish
Marvell carries a Buy consensus rating with an average price forecast of $348.72.
UBS maintained a Buy rating and raised its target to $350 on Oct. 7. Jefferies maintained Buy and lifted its target to $450, while JPMorgan maintained Overweight and raised its target to $360 on the same day.
Top ETF Exposure
The State Street SPDR NYSE Technology ETF (NYSE:XNTK) carries a 6.32% weighting in Marvell, while the YieldMax Semiconductor Portfolio Option Income ETF (NYSE:CHPY) holds 5.85%.
The REX AI Equity Premium Income ETF (NASDAQ:AIPI) has a 9.07% weighting in the stock.
Because Marvell represents a meaningful portion of these funds, significant ETF inflows or outflows can translate into corresponding buying or selling activity in MRVL shares.
