WW International Inc. (NASDAQ:WW), known as Weight Watchers, said Tuesday it is working with Google Health Enterprise to add wearable data and AI-powered health insights to some employer and payer weight-management programs.
Following the announcement, the stock jumped nearly 12%.
Fitbit Data Comes To Weight Watchers Programs
Google Health Enterprise is part of Google, a subsidiary of Alphabet Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOGL).
The collaboration is available through select Weight Watchers for Business programs.
Eligible members can gain access to Fitbit Air and Google Health Premium after meeting required activity and participation milestones. Members can also connect Fitbit Air to their Weight Watchers accounts.
That connection will allow users to track activity, sleep and other health signals alongside their weight-management progress.
Weight Watchers said the added data could help members build daily habits and stay engaged over time.
The company offers behavioral weight-management programs as well as clinical services, including its GLP-1 Success Program and Med+ virtual clinic.
Chief Commercial Officer Scott Honken said the Google collaboration is designed to strengthen engagement across those programs.
Google executive Jeff Hamel said the partnership aims to turn everyday activity and health information into actionable insights that can support longer-term behavior change.
GLP-1 Market Could Reach $190 Billion By 2035
The partnership comes as employers and health plans face higher obesity-related costs and growing demand for GLP-1 drug coverage.
Morgan Stanley expects the global GLP-1 drug market to reach $190 billion by 2035, more than double its estimated $79 billion size in 2025.
The firm has also said wider GLP-1 adoption could pressure discretionary food categories while shifting consumer spending toward fitness and higher-quality dining experiences.
Weight Watchers expanded its GLP-1 reach in June through a partnership with Eli Lilly and Co. (NYSE:LLY) and its digital health care platform.
WW Price Action: WW International shares were up 11.79% at $16.80 at the time of publication on Tuesday, according to Benzinga Pro data.
