Private equity firm Apollo Global Management (NYSE:
APO) is getting ready to buy discount chain 99-Cent Only Stores (NYSE:
NDN), according to sources speaking to the New York Post.
The Schiffer-Gold family, owners of one-third of the shares, has indicated it is willing to team up with the highest bidder to take the company private. The Schiffer-Gold's had partnered with Leonard Green back in March to offer $1.34 billion for a takeover.
99-Cent Only Stores has indicated it wants bidders to be ready to confirm a deal by mid-September.
