PetPartners pet insurance offers budget-friendly, customizable options, and there are five policy options to fit your needs. However, the standard base policy covers significantly fewer services than most entry-level accident and illness plans. PetPartners doesn’t offer a method of filing claims digitally either. Instead, policyholders must print and fill out all forms and submit them by mail, email or fax. You want to make sure you read all the fine print to understand what is and isn’t included in your policy. In some cases, you may need to purchase policy addons to reach the level of protection you need or want.

PetPartners pet insurance has preventative care options, unlimited annual deductible and a high per-incident deductible. Under one of the plans, coinsurance is available at 10% or 20%. Once you reach your deductible, PetPartners will either pay 90% or 80% of the remaining bill balance. This is all dependent upon which plan option you select, of course.

Protection policies are standard and cover typical accidents, illnesses and hereditary conditions like elbow and hip dysplasia, arthritis or diabetes. Other forms of care like spray, neuter and dental cleanings are added under a wellness plan.

PetPartners pet insurance is only for dogs and cats. There are waiting periods for certain conditions like 14 days for illness, 180 days for Intervertebral Disc Disease, three days for accidents and 180 days for cruciate ligament injuries. The purpose of waiting periods is to ensure no pre-existing conditions or that a customer is signing up a sick or injured pet to receive coverage strictly.

Keep in mind that while you are researching and shopping around for pet insurance, you get the best coverage when you sign up for a healthy pet before they begin to experience any health issues.

PetPartners Pricing

It is essential to remember that the base policy may appear to be cheap at first, but once you examine more in-depth, customers will see that the base includes less coverage than a typical accident and illness plan.

For example, PetPartners pet insurance is quoted at $21.60 per month for a two-year-old dog with a $500 annual deductible, $10,000 limit and 80% reimbursement. If a customer were looking to add coverage on exam fees, end-of-life expenses and full wellness benefits, the cost would jump to roughly $42.97 per month. This is nearly twice as much as the original quote.

When comparing any pet insurance quotes, customers want to make sure they look at the pricing for all benefits you seek. It is highly suggested that you not just look at the sticker price on each base policy. When you examine the pricing for all the benefits, it is much easier to gauge how much value you are getting out of your money.

PetPartners Application Experience

Since technology has become more advanced, it is no surprise that PetPartners pet insurance utilizes tools to ease the application process. Customers can call or visit the company online through their website for more information and request a quote.

The smartphone mobile app has also proved to be a huge asset with the application experience overall. It not only saves time but offers a way to apply easily from anywhere. Because of this, the PetPartners application experience received a 4 out of 5 stars.

PetPartners vs. Competitors

A strong competitor of PetPartners pet insurance is PetFirst. It offers similar low-priced policies designed for pet parents on a tight budget. When you compare prices, though, PetPartners is the better option because the policies are cheaper per month for the same coverage with only a slightly higher limit.

PetFirst has higher monthly prices, but the plan includes costs like exam fees and genetic conditions that do not fall under PetPartners pet insurance plans.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q

Is it worth it to invest in pet insurance?

A

If you do not have an emergency savings fund for your pet, investing your time and money in pet insurance may not be a bad idea. It will undoubtedly be worth the money. Customers need to check policy details, though, to make sure that everything they need is protected and included on the plan before paying for any premiums.

Q

Does pet insurance pay the veterinarian directly?

A

Most of the time, the answer will be no. Customers will pay for the care of their pet at the vet’s office then file a claim. Once that is done, you must wait for the provider to reimburse you. In some rare cases, insurance companies might offer you a spending account option that can be used to pay for care at the time of service. However, relying solely on that notion is not wise, as not every pet insurance company will provide such a benefit.
