Ethereum ETH/USD, meanwhile, moved lower, trading above the key $2,200 mark this morning.
Stacks STX/USD was the top gainer over the prior 24 hours, while Terra Classic LUNC/USD turned out to be the biggest loser.
The US current account deficit narrowed by 7.6% to $200.3 billion in the third quarter, versus the revised figure of $216.8 billion in the prior quarter and compared to markets estimates of a $196 billion gap.
At the time of writing, the global crypto market cap rose to $1.61 trillion, recording a 24-hour gain of 0.01%. BTC was trading higher by 0.2% at $42,973 while ETH fell by around 0.9% to $2,211 on Wednesday.
