Ethereum ETH/USD, meanwhile, moved lower, trading below the key $1,600 mark this morning.

Optimism OP/USD was the top gainer over the prior 24 hours, while UNUS SED LEO LEO/USD turned out to be the biggest loser.

At the time of writing, the global crypto market cap fell to $1.02 trillion, recording a 24-hour decline of 0.6%. BTC was trading higher by 0.1% at $25,811 while ETH fell by around 1.6% to $1,579 on Tuesday.
