It provides equity and debt investment capital to fund growth, acquisitions and recapitalizations of small and middle-market companies in a variety of industries located in the United States. Its investments can take the form of senior and subordinated loans, common and preferred stock and warrants or rights to acquire equity interests, or convertible securities, among other instruments. It is working on an active pipeline of potential new investment opportunities. The Company faces competition from investing activities from private equity funds, other business development companies, investment banks, investment affiliates of large industrial, technology, service and financial companies, small business investment companies, wealthy individuals and foreign investors.
