CrowdStrike Wants to Stop AI Gone Rogue — and It's Buying Two Companies to Do It

CrowdStrike Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ:CRWD) broadened its AI security push Tuesday with two planned acquisitions, a new AI Kill Switch, and expanded partnerships across Anthropic, Amazon Web Services, Lovable, and EY.

The announcements span AI agent observability, automated security testing, runtime controls and integrations across enterprise AI platforms.

Fiddler and Dreadnode Expand AI Security

CrowdStrike signed definitive agreements to acquire Fiddler, which adds AI agent observability and explainability, and Dreadnode, which brings automated testing for AI models, applications and agents.

CrowdStrike expects to close both transactions during its fourth quarter of fiscal 2027, subject to customary conditions. The company expects to pay the purchase prices predominantly in cash, with portions delivered in stock subject to vesting conditions. Financial terms were not disclosed.

CrowdStrike plans to integrate Fiddler into its Falcon platform as Falcon Observe, with general availability expected in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2027.

Falcon Observe will evaluate agents before deployment, trace decisions and tool calls, detect behavioral drift and unintended actions, and provide records for audits and compliance.

Dreadnode’s technology will test AI systems against more than 100 known attack strategies, including jailbreaks, prompt injection, multi-turn attacks and agent-specific threats.

CrowdStrike expects Automated AI Security Testing to become generally available in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2027.

CrowdStrike ended the second quarter of fiscal 2027 on July 31, 2026, with approximately $5.01 billion in cash and cash equivalents.

AI Kill Switch and Platform Integrations

CrowdStrike also introduced an AI Kill Switch in Falcon Guardian. The feature allows authorized administrators to stop rogue or misbehaving AI agents, prevent them from relaunching and cut off enterprise network access while recording each action in an audit trail. CrowdStrike said termination begins at the Gateway, with endpoint-level capabilities planned.

The company said the Kill Switch is available today.

CrowdStrike separately announced native Falcon Guardian protection for Anthropic’s Claude Cowork, extending protection from agent creation through execution and helping detect malicious activity and potential data exfiltration.

Through its AWS collaboration, CrowdStrike is extending Falcon Guardian to Amazon Bedrock AgentCore Guardrails and Falcon protection to Amazon ECS Managed Instances.

The Bedrock integration targets prompt injection, sensitive-data leakage and malicious AI activity, while the ECS integration automatically extends Falcon protection as cloud environments scale.

CrowdStrike also integrated Falcon Shield with Lovable workspaces to help security teams identify publicly accessible applications, sensitive-data risks and access issues.

EY Expands Falcon Adoption

EY is building its AI and cyber-resilience business on Falcon across more than 20 member firms.

The company plans to train its cybersecurity services workforce on the Falcon platform and Project QuiltWorks over the next year. It is also working with Xcel Energy to implement SafeMind capabilities.

EY is expanding its use of Falcon Flex and integrating Project QuiltWorks training into its global learning system.

CrowdStrike said an EY Fortune 100 client identified nearly 45 million vulnerabilities within hours of using Project QuiltWorks, including many that had gone undetected for years.

CRWD Price Action: CrowdStrike Holdings shares were up 2.93% at $248.90 at the time of publication on Tuesday, according to Benzinga Pro data.
