U.S. Bancorp provides financial services, including lending and depository services, cash management, foreign exchange and trust and investment management services. It also engages in credit card services, merchant and ATM processing, mortgage banking, insurance, brokerage and leasing. It provides its Banking and investment services through a network of 3,081 banking offices mainly operating in the Midwest and West regions of the United States. The Company operates a network of 4,906 ATMs and provides 24-hour, seven day a week telephone customer service. Lending products may be originated through banking offices, indirect correspondents, brokers and other lending sources. The Company provides Visa corporate and purchasing card services and corporate trust services in the United States. It Company also provides corporate trust and fund administration services in Europe. It competes with other commercial banks and with other financial institutions, including savings and loan associations, mutual savings banks, finance companies, mortgage banking companies, credit unions and investment companies. As a registered bank holding company and financial holding company under the Bank Holding Company Act, U.S. Bancorp is subject to the supervision of and regulation by, the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System.
