Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has voiced his disapproval of a proposed security agreement between the U.S. and Ukraine.

What Happened: On Monday, Musk responded to a post by David Sacks, venture capitalist and former COO of PayPal, who had shared a screenshot of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s latest announcement. In it, Zelenskyy highlighted a potential security agreement with the U.S. The agreement would set levels of support for the next decade, with Sacks suggesting that the previously committed $61 billion was just the beginning.

Musk replied to Sacks’ post, “This is insane. The forever war.”

Why It Matters: The U.S. Congress recently approved a $95 billion foreign aid package, primarily aimed at countering Russian aggression. The package included a $61 billion allocation for Ukraine.

Musk’s stance on the Ukraine conflict has been consistent. He has previously voiced his concerns over Ukraine’s worsening situation and the potential loss of Odesa and Black Sea access. Musk has urged Ukraine’s leadership to negotiate rather than escalating the fight.

Despite criticism for his handling of Starlink internet satellites in the war-torn region, Musk has provided Ukraine with Starlink internet satellites since the beginning of the invasion by Russia. Musk has clarified that his refusal to help Ukraine in a surprise attack was due to it being a major act of war.

Furthermore, Musk has denied selling Starlink terminals to Russia amid the ongoing war, calling such reports “categorically false.” He stated that to the best of his knowledge, no Starlinks have been sold directly or indirectly to Russia.
