The Trade Desk Inc. (NASDAQ:TTD) shares are climbing Tuesday alongside other peers that sold off hard lately. Here’s what you should know.
- Trade Desk shares are advancing steadily. What’s pushing TTD stock higher?
Trade Desk Rises With Beaten-Down Group
Beaten-down names are rallying together Tuesday, and Trade Desk is part of the move. MNTN leads the group with a 4.3% gain, followed by NIQ Global Intelligence at 2.6% and Ibotta at 2.3%. Boston Omaha is higher as well.
Participation is light. Trade Desk had traded roughly 2 million shares by 10:23 a.m. ET, less than half the typical 4.3 million for that hour. A normal full session runs near 22.4 million shares.
The year still looks rough for the stock. Trade Desk has fallen 76.0% over 12 months, the worst showing in this group. MNTN has dropped 31.7%, while Ibotta has risen 47.2%.
Trade Desk Shareholders Approve Option Repricing
Investors also had a company-specific event to digest. At a special meeting Monday, Trade Desk shareholders approved a plan to lower the exercise price on certain employee stock options, the company said in an SEC filing.
Under the plan, eligible options now carry an exercise price of $12.26, Monday’s closing price, if their original price was higher. Current employees and executives qualify under the 2025 Incentive Award Plan, but non-employee directors do not. Incentive stock options are excluded, along with the market-based performance options granted to CEO Jeff Green in October 2021 and September 2026.
Holders who exercise their options before April 19, 2027, pay the original price, and so do those who leave before then, unless Trade Desk fires them without cause.
